Beautiful Pakistan

Happy New Year for starters, everyone!
I might have left the country a few weeks before new years for a surprise family trip to places I'd never imagine I'll visit this early in life.

Any reason to explore more of the world, I'll take.

I supposedly have bloods flowing in me from 4 corners of the world:
Indonesia, Pakistan, China and The Netherlands.

I've lived in Indonesia all my life, I've visited China when I was younger and and I had the opportunity to roam over Holland in 2013, I genuinely thought that I'll never ever go to Pakistan. I'm not going to lie, I was scared, with all the bad things they say on tv and medias, it's not exactly on the top of my dream travel destination.

Thing is, I still have my uncle and his big (lovely) family living there, which was comforting in one way or another.

When I first landed, I got massive chill looking at how people dress, how they stare at my blue jeans, and how, since it's winter, people wrap blanket over their bodies and head on the street, which I thought was very discomforting. I soon met my cousin and her daughter who took us to beautiful parks. I like parks, I also like the fact that the sweet, respectful men who work in the park or shops are dressed how "terrorists" are portrayed in the media, you know, with long beard, head wrap, and different kind of clothing. It gave me a knock on the head, on how easy the medias brainwash me into agreeing with these awful, awful stereotypes.
In Pakistan, I visited numerous of beautiful places like Murree. Murree is an area 2000-3000 m above sea level, making it colder than the rest of Pakistan. People say that it often snows in Muree, but sadly, it only started snowing as we were about to leave. But it was beautiful nonetheless.

Murree.
In Muree, they have lovely places to visit like this 5 star hotel with beautiful view, the Cable Cart, Traditional Market that sell artistic, handmade goods, etc.
In the market in Murree with Noreen
Leather Jacket - Zara
Khaki Coat - Zara
Blue Jeans - Pull&Bear
Boots - Doc Marten
Sling Bag - Stradivarius

Back from Muree, we were taken to some other amazing places like this Mosque that was made by the same people who built the Taj'Mahal, the Moguls.
They also made castle and museums, all very beautifully made.

Pakistan isn't half as scary as they make it out to be. I was honestly terrified at first, and sure, it's scary to be in such foreign place with strange culture and behaviours, but as time goes by, I felt blessed to be able to learn about different customs in different parts of the world. Their values and different way of thinking can grant you better understanding and knowledge of how diverse the world is and how to share the planet with respect.

So with this last picture of Chai (Pakistani Milk Tea),
I shall end this overly long post.

Hope everyone had an awesome NYE and an even better year!
Here's to 2015!

Red Lips & Sweater Weather

"I got that red lip, classic thing that you like.."

There's no better time to wear the all time classic red lips than Autumn or Rainy Season, here on the Equator Line. It brightens up the moody weather like a hot coco on a chilly night!

It's the season to put away those heels,
pull out them boots,
put on cozy sweaters
and pull off red lips!
Over time, I hadn't realized that I've collected quite a few red lipsticks,
here are my favorites for the cold season!

I've reviewed most of the items,
but for this particular season,
1. YSL no. 7 - This is not my favorite, but at times, a little shine on your lips won't hurt and this is the stick to go for that extra gloss.
2. Rimmel no. 10 - Rimmel's lasting power and texture is amazing, this particular colour is the lightest red I have and is absolutely stunning. Click for details.
3. MAC Ruby Woo - This is my absolute favorite lipstick on the planet, the absolute best, God-made. The flamboyant matte red is absolutely stunning, especially for rainy season! Oh and the vanilla scent? #DEAD
4. Revlon 006 - Also a matte red, very similar to Ruby Woo in colour, but about 1/7 the price. This doesn't last as long and not as matte, but it's a great dupe for Ruby Woo.
5. Rimmel no. 107 - Favorite red/plum colour, gorgeous under the dark clouds! Click for details.
6. Revlon 307 - My go-to dark red/brown lipstick! Classic dark red lips for formal events!
7. L'oreal 602 - Slight brownish/redish gloss! This is buildable too, and very casual for uni/school! Click for details.
Surprise surprise, my favorite lips for this sweater weather isn't even a lipstick.
This is a lip liner from Yves Saint Laurent no. 1 that I got whilst I was in Amsterdam a year ago.

The reason this is my ultimate favorite is the fact that beside the absolutely stunning deep red colour,

LIP. LINERS. don't. budge.

They stay on for the longest time no matter what activities you have through out the day.

Lip liners are also very compact in size, and more precise in application because they're basically pencil (we've been prepared since we're 3 to apply it guys! just on our face and not drawing book this time.)

Hope you guys have a vanilla-scented snuggle buddy or at least fantastic brand of tea or coffee and best-selling books by your side in this romantic-melodramatic weather!
Let me know what other lip colour is your go to for this season!
OH AND AUSTRALIA, summer's not a bad time to rock them red lips too!

Love,

Jakarta Halloween Festival 2014

I'm 21! WHAT?
I know right!

I spent my entire birthday on 1 presentation and 1 test, and the remaining sleeping because I was utterly exhausted. I did get pretty rad gifts from friends and family.

but yada, yada, yada,
you know why Halloween's my favorite day of the year? because no matter how sucky my birthday ends up (and trust me, I've had one too many birthdays that ended up with me crying myself to sleep) I have like this one more fun night do-over. Which is INCREDIBLE.

This year, I stumbled across a post on Instagram that promoted the first ever Halloween festival in my hometown. I immediately leaped outta joy to see whoever wanted to come with. Since it is a day after my birthday, it's pretty easy to get my favorite people to go. The crew (Tan, Nazneen and Shahnaz) said yes and I planned my costume immediately.

I had so many ideas, including Hogwarts student, A Cat, Bellatrix Lestrange (tough choice because I had no time to prepare the costume) and Emily from Corpse Bride (difficult costume too.)

I ended up as a cat because it's the easiest. (and most overrated in the world, apparently)
I drove to Senayan for a few hours, once we got there and found Tanya waiting in the dark side (figuratively and literally), we purchased the tickets and waited to come in. As we wait in front of the gate, I heard a few people calling and chanting my name. I turned around to see that few of my friends from youtube/indovidgram there. I spotted Chandra, Devina and Aulion, first and Vendry, Bena and a few others after.

We went to check out the scare zone first, where there were "ghosts" running around acting possessed. One literally screamed in my ear with a chainsaw! IT WAS COOL.

The only thing is that, since it's dark, it was hard trying to capture photos of things!
In the Safe Zone, people sit around and enjoy food from the small vendors surrounding the place. The atmosphere is very festival-like. Which is wonderful. Everyone seemed to put effort into their costume, which is very comforting in the strangest way.

I met my friend Anna, whom I've lured into coming a few days earlier (muahahaha), with her sister Norma and a few of her lovely friends.

We visited the Japanese Maze which was very strange, with awkward Japanese ghost. It was uncomfortable, not gonna lie. Haha. Anna had to go early though, wish she had stayed longer!

(although not visible, I had on:
Tight Black Bodycon Dress with Tutu
A black skirt to make the dress longer
My mum's Net Stockings
Kitty Lace Ear from Primark
Choker from H&M

I joined Aulion, Bena, Dina and Dhino in queuing for the haunted house (where I was terrified and only held Bena's shoulders from behind and look down the entire time!) before joining everyone back in the Safe Zone.
Dina and Dhino should've really told me that it wasn't the time to smile,..
waiting for the Haunted House took like 45 minutes, damn.
The lovely Vendry from moinblog.com and the super-tall-and-pretty Caca!
Marlo is in a strange mood, I believe. (Devina, great photobomb, darle!)
Kitty nose completely gone by this point.

had a fun night, looking forward to next year's! x

How was your Halloween?
What did you choose to channel?
Hope it was awesome!
