48 Hours in Geneva, Switzerland

Once upon a very boring class,
I glanced over my agenda and saw that I have yet to plan for the 1 week holiday we have here in France, called the Vacances Toussaint or the All Saints Holiday.
 I opened a new tab on my chrome browser and started typing, “fastest plane ride from Nantes, France” and one of the fastest + cheapest option came up on top.

‘Geneva,’

it said, hmm, I’ve always wanted to go to Switzerland!
I have been in it for a few hours inside a bus, absolutely strucked by its beauty, but I can barely count that as a trip as I had not spend the night, hear the locals speak, eat, walk, interact, and basically live, nor have I induldged myself in any of their habits and culture. 

 I checked my schedule and without looking up anything about Geneva, I booked my flight.
 I arrived midday from Paris, having spent the night at the airport (bc my plane leaves early and I don’t think there are any ways to get to the airport had I not been closeby) I was TIRED. As I got to my hotel room, I laid down for a minute and fell asleep for half an hour because I was THAT tired.  But then I got ready and left to see what Geneva has got to offer.

That night I saw Jet D’eau in the dark.

It says on Wikipedia that

“Five hundred litres (110 imp gal; 130 US gal) of water per second are jetted to an altitude of 140 metres (460 ft) by two 500 kW pumps, operating at 2,400 V, consuming one megawatt of electricity.^[2][3][4] The water leaves the 10 centimetres (3.9 in) nozzle at a speed of 200 kilometres per hour (120 mph). At any given moment, there are about 7,000 litres (1,500 imp gal; 1,800 US gal) of water in the air.”

 

       

       

   

 

What is my verdict on Geneva, you ask?

I liked it.

It wasn't crowded, people seem to enjoy a peaceful life and overall a very chill place to be in.

I am happy I got to see it for what it is.

Next, Zürich!
